Canada is a popular destination for visitors. You require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) in order to travel to Canada unless you are from a visa-exempt country. TRV can be issued for up to 10 years or up to the validity of your passport. Below are the requirements to apply for TRV:
Must be healthy and may require undergoing a medical exam
Valid passport, proof of identity
Satisfy IRCC officials that you have strong ties to your home country
Must satisfy IRCC that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay;
Should have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay;
May require a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
You must make a formal request to IRCC if you wish to stay in Canada beyond the authorized period. If you are denied an extension, you must leave Canada immediately.
